Tickles the Coffee Bone and Coffee Tickle

Ugly Mug Coffee Image
OH, What a Beautiful Morning! That is what you will see when you enter Ugly Mug Coffee Site. What you will also see is a great re-branding spearheaded by Indianapolis-based Young & Laramore on the coffee company overall feel. They focused on being loud and giving everyone a wake up call every morning as you can see in the packages and the ad campaign that they have done.

They have really given the people a wake up call by going BOLD and LOUD on their packaging. The letters are also very noticeable and gives a great meaning(see images below). It just fits the brand really well since they're selling coffee and what does coffee do? It wakes you up and tells you to get up and enjoy the beautiful day!

As for the packaging above, it was great to see the words "tickles the coffee bone" written on the side which really reminds me of Coffee Tickle. When we say "Tickle Away to a Great Day" this is what we meant and yes we could now all say "Oh! What a Beautiful Morning!"

Coffee Street Ad by Folger's

Coffee Print / Street Ad Image
I must agree with Mariz that there are a lot of creative minds out there. Take a look at that street ad by Folger's Coffee above and you'll understand what I mean. It's just amazing how these people conceptualize great ad works and how they make use of non traditional ways of marketing a product.

Someone crossing the street would really notice that ad and great work by the ad agency behind this. For sure that when you see that ad while your walking on that street, you'd want a cup of coffee. Don't deny it! I would..

Coffee Video Thursday #2 : Wilkins Coffee (Jim Henson Ads)

0 tickles / ticked

The really old advertisement is something that's both hilarious and scary. I was never a big fan of the muppets but the "acting" and script here were really funny and somehow I'm just amazed how great a talent Jim Henson was.

Watch the first part when the first muppet says "How do you feel about Wilkins Coffee?" then the second muppet responds by saying "Never heard of it!" So the first muppet blows the second one away with a cannon ball. It ends by "Kermit" looking at the audience and saying "Now, how do you feel about Wilkins Coffee?"

Funny but scary huh? He was imposing a threat to the audience which I don't think will be allowed these days but it was still filled with fun. This is something that would grab your attention when you watch it. This was truly a great marketing campaign back in the 60s.

How about you what do you think of this ad?

Coffee Video Thursday - Folgers Old Coffee Ad

First of all, I would like to thank all those who have visited and joined my community and also those who have emailed me. Please continue sending your suggestions as I will try to add or use them in our community. Thanks again!

I have been watching some coffee commercials lately and decided to add a new part for this blog. It's called Coffee Video Thursday since I will be uploading coffee videos (mostly commercials) every Thursday (still Wednesday for some). These videos won't come in any particular order, anything that I think will be good for entertainment will be great. If you find any videos offensive just email me all right? :) I hope you enjoy this new portion. Tickle Away to a Great Day everyone!

This was during the 1950s and you could see how different the story/plot of the commercials were back then. In this commercial, Harvey just asks his wife for a decent coffee during his birthday. After being compared "rudely" to how the girls in the office make his coffee, his wife talks to her friend and asks for advice. Then her friend advises her to try Folger's Instant Coffee since it "tastes good as fresh perked!" So she surprises Harvey and they have a happy dinner and of course a happy ending.

I would just like to say that this commercial may be offensive to some, especially women. This was taken in the 1950s and I am sure that this kind of commercial will get lots of complaints if made these days.

So there you have it, I will be posting new videos every week so watch out! Enjoy! Thanks for watching the 1st episode of Coffee Video Thursday!
